This is a touristy pink shanty type building with one room for serving ice cream, another room for sitting down while you eat your ice cream and a third kids room, I didn't investigate. I went there for an ice cream cone. I asked that he not overfill the cone and the counter guy didn't. My ice cream cone came to five dollars and change. The ice cream was fresh, no ice crystals and so creamy delicious. I think the price is high, as I could buy a container for less than the cone. But, it was convenient and on my way.

We stopped at Kirk's after a night of go-carting and mini golf. Being from up north, I wasn't sure if the ice cream would be the same. I don't know why, just did. Upon walking in, you can tell it's definitely an older place, but I like the looks and feels of those places. I asked the young man if he had soft serve (actually it was more like sawft serve) he had to ask me to repeat it like 3 times which I thought was funny. Plus, he actually didn't know what soft serve was. I kid you not, he had to ask the manager, He said no, so I opted for the black cherry with hot fudge. I asked for a small, but they ended up giving me a large. I don't know if it was to make up for the room that was needed for the fudge or what, but this happened again at another place. My fiance got the black cherry as well. It was VERY delicious. We have a similiar place up here that has the same type of ice cream but with huge chocolate chunks in it (managers take note). We all got our ice cream and sat down in the back. It kind of seemed like they had expanded the ice cream parlor at one time. The tables were dirty and a lot of them were sticky and had ice cream all over them. We tried picking the cleanest table and even that was hard. I don't know if I would personally return since I really like my soft serve ice cream, but if everybody else wanted to, I would just for the different options they did have. The four stars because they were pricey (I think it was $12 for both of us) and the manager wasn't that friendly.

Despite the bad service four years ago we returned because the ice cream was really good. Service was better this time but still a little to be desired. Just might not be the friendliest run place in Myrtle Beach. That being said the ice cream did not disappoint. I got the banana pudding ice cream which was so much better than I would have imagined. My wife got the praline ice cream which she really enjoyed as well. The ice cream is good for a decent price (compared to everywhere else), just don't expect the friendliest staff.

I like the ambiance but it's not spectacular ice cream. I wanted something a little more than what is offered at grocery store. The service is good. Price was great. We ended up getting a banana spilt because the value was better. I totally recommend this if you want to share.

This place was amazing! Fresh, home made ice cream. Unique flavors and combinations. Friendly staff, great service. The banana pudding ice cream and reese's sundae were absolutely delicious! We'll defintely visit a few more times before our vacation is over.

Triple scoop butter pecan cone was absolutely amazing and will probably be going back every night for the rest of vacation...

We regularly go to Kirk's for an ice cream when we are at our condo in MB, and are always very happy with the service. Their cream and frozen yogurts are so so good. I know the tourist season has begun but we were waited on by a brooding young lady with red hair. (I wish they had name tags) who had such a bad attitude and was rolling her eyes at us after getting our order wrong. I asked for 2 single dips on sugar cones, one she served in a cup and I politely told her we asked for a cone... Well that was like the world just ended for her. The eyes rolling with a nice angry throw of it into the garbage while whispering to the other kids working. I would have just taken a cone and put it on myself at that point. Her attitude actually made us feel like we were back in PA, not the gracious southern hospitality we have grown to love. I know it sounds dumb, it's just an ice cream cone... But this girl was so mean tempered it sorta pulled us in a bad mood. She acted like the "Soup Nazi," but the "Ice Cream Nazi." I love this place and will not stop going, but if I see the redheaded ice cream nazi coming to wait on us again, I'll ask for someone else.

This place is great. It is a bit old school on the inside but the ice cream is great. There are many flavors. I highly recommend the "I love chocolate" and strawberry.

Serves blue bell ice cream. Really was good and had friendly staff. Prices were lower on average too.

Atmosphere aside, this place sells Blue Bell ice cream, which is in of itself worthy of six stars. As it is, the portions were hugely generous, and I was pleasantly surprised by the massive serving for my 'single' scoop of coffee ice cream. There are flavors galore, from the traditional to the trendy, so everyone in the fam/group can happily indulge. The sitting area was ginormous albeit a bit sparse on the seating, but there was the iconic late-70's "Love Tester" and a Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga arcade game to bring some authentic time pieces to the decor. I recall the employee telling us this location opened up in the early 90's while the original opened a few blocks down in the 70's. Didn't get a chance to visit there during this trip, but others have reported loving it also.

Ice cream is pretty good but thought they had home made ice cream. Its actually Blue Bell. A little pricey. $10 for a cone and a cup.

They have very delicious Frozen Yogurt - always with a few flavors in stock, and they'r even willing to mix it with sierra mist for a non-diary shake. Also Gluten Free!

Soooo good! Tried the strawberry cheesecake and banana pudding ice cream. Settled on the banana pudding and was not disappointed. The parlor was cute with an old school feel and some arcade games. My husband had cherry vanilla and that was also really good. Great service, very friendly! Best ice cream we have had yet on our Myrtle Beach vacation.

Prices are a shock at first but you get quality and a good amount. Love the big cones.

I'm not sure about the mixed reviews of this place, but my experience was pretty good. I was looking for a local ice cream place and did not want a chain, frozen yogurt or soft-serve type place with the pull-down handles. The place reminds me of an old time parlor with video games and lots of tables to enjoy a creation like a sundae or banana split. I went for a standard double-scoop in a cup. I sampled a few before deciding on the banana pudding with little bits of Nilla wafers in it and choc chip on the side to add some good mixed flavor to it. I can't say it was the best ice cream in the world (that is reserved for gelatos), but it was quite good. The young workers were attentive and friendly to all that were in there during my visit. I recommend this place.

We had the flavors birthday cake and also peanut butter cup. Ice cream was good. Scoop sizes were generous. $15 for four "single" cups, but they were really 2-scoops each. Will definitely come back.

After a long day, we went to Kirk's for some Ice Cream, and we weren't disappointed!! I'm not sure where some of these other reviewers went, but it wasn't the Kirk's I went to - the service was fantastic, as was the ice cream!! It's a welcome break from the soft serve to get actual scoops of tasty ice cream, for a change!! Next trip, we'll definitely be back!!

Somehow this place still has a nifty ice cream parlor feel to it. I've had great service here and one not so great service. Overall, the ice cream was very good and most of the kids behind the counter were trying.

This is my first YELP. I have been to many fine restaurants and lovely cafes, which I should have yelped about in the past but was too complacent to do so. However, this horrible place compelled me, at last, to write. This place is a dump!! The ice cream is flavorless and insipid. It has no richness and is on par with sub par supermarket ice cream. Also, the selection is unimaginative and boring. I took my family for an after dinner ice cream and we were all disappointed. I had double chocolate fudge, which for some reason had some type of crunchy particles embedded in it, which I imagine to be toe nail clippings. My wife thought the ice cream to be soured or spoiled. Worse, if you can imagine, the atmosphere was creepy reminding me of an abandoned amusement park. Avoid at all hazards.

Ice cream was very tasty. Limited seating on a busy evening. We come here every year during vacation because it is close to were we stay. Its not a place to go out of your way to go try.

This place is way to over priced they have some young boy that is behind the counter helping that seems like a big dork. Every time I asked him something he kept looking at every one else for the answer. There was a old man at the table that was telling him what to do. The ice cream was not that good at ALL who can screw up ice cream?? Really..... My daughter got 1 scoop of double brownie no brownie in site in the ice cream and I got a scoop of vanilla with toasted almonds on top almonds were stale. That mess costs $12.00!!! That is way to high for 2 freaking scoops of ice cream!! I will never go back to them if I'm ever back in town.

They serve Blue Bell ice cream. Nuff said. As a native Texan I don't think there's a better ice cream made. Reasonably priced and enjoyed by the whole family.

There is something about the beach that makes me want ice cream (who am I kidding, there is somethign about living that makes me want ice cream). The guy behind the counter was awesome, but it's the same Mayfield Ice Cream you can get at home. I got the one no sugar added/fat-free option and it was surprisingly good. If you're looking for an ice cream place, you could do worse.

Awesome little local place. I'd highly recommend it. It's fun and charming and the ice cream is quite tasty, too.

Another recommendation by a local that paid off----this place has awesome ice cream! With thirty some flavors we has a tough time making up our minds, but after some tries, we recommend the banana puddin, birthday cake and cherry vanilla. The place has a great old time parlor look to it and wonderful servers that make your ice cream experience all the sweeter.

I have visited Kirks many times but this might have been the last. The ice cream is okay, but the service is terrible. They are very busy but do not seem to really appreciate their customers. The tables are sticky and the whole place could use a good cleaning. Look for other options!
